Man, are you ready for Fall weather??!! We certainly are here on the Space Coast of FL! What a wonderful time to be here in the Sunshine State!
What are your favorite things to do during this season of harvest? How do you celebrate in your home?
If you're a gardener or are looking to start, here's great planting information for September found on https://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/publication/vh021 . Celebrating Harvest Time with your own harvest is a great way to spend time relaxing with your family and teaching your children botany, geology, or discussing nature. As a homeschool mom, I was always looking for practical life experiences to teach my children the subjects required. There are many involved in planting a garden or landscape around their homes. Not only do you beautify your curb appeal (a great way to market your home while it's on the market), you beautify your family relationships. That's something to be thankful for while you work on your first harvest.
Even before we got to September, stores were filling up with all things FALL. The colors of gourds and mums paired with pumpkins, hay bales, and beautiful Autumn leaves make for warm, cozy feelings of the coming season. Soon we'll see folks decorating their homes with these, which will be a welcome site after the hot summer days. Along with these general colors of Fall, the NFL fans will be adorning their homes and "man caves" with their favorite team colors while the MLB fans look forward to the Postseason with anticipation (don't think 2023 is a Yankee year, sadly)! Such a fun time of year.
While I miss living up in the northeast and experiencing the chill of the Fall evenings and warm sweatshirts most everyday, I'm thankful for the ability to cook and bake seasonal dishes, sleep with the windows open, and enjoy the gorgeous beach a bit longer. Come on Fall! We're anxious for your arrival!!
